21 April 1999 Blazing Guns "Guns don't kill people. People kill people." "Today, we do more to ensure Americans are safe around firearms - whether or not they choose to own them - than any other public or private group."
"With a firearm present in about half of all American households, all young children should learn that firearms are not toys. That's Eddie Eagle's fundamental, non-judgmental public safety message." "Like swimming pools, electrical outlets, matchbooks and household poisons, they're treated simply as a fact of everyday life. With firearms found in about half of all American households, it's a stance that makes sense." "High School Becomes a Killing Ground. Two heavily armed teens stormed the Littleton, Colo., school, slaying 13 people and wounding 28 before apparently killing themselves. Some 30 bombs and booby traps, placed by the shooters, have been found."
"Bodies Remain Inside School as Police Check for Bombs. Authorities confirmed on Wednesday that 15 people, including two teen-age suspects, were killed in the rampage of gunshots and explosions at a high school in suburban Denver."
Officials Say 15 People Killed in Colorado School Shooting. Police painstakingly checked for bombs on Wednesday in a suburban high school where 15 people were killed in the deadliest U.S. school rampage ever.
HIGH SCHOOL MASSACRE. Columbine High's agony. After working through the night to neutralize 30 bombs and booby traps, officials announced this morning that the two students who opened fire Tuesday on Columbine High School had killed 15 people and wounded 28 in the worst school shooting in American history. Violence may have been around since time immemorial. And these may be strange days as another millennium approaches. But the "right to bear arms" shouldn't be a right. It should be a hard-earned privilege, granted only to those who prove they have the maturity, training and intelligence to carry a weapon. The best gun, is an unused one. These events occur, juxtaposed with the hell in the Balkans, where planes are arriving in Belgrade to bomb Yugoslavia. Stop the insanity.
I close my eyes
Dust in the Wind
Same old song
Dust in the Wind
Now, don't hang on
