Just when you think things are bad, they get better ...
First of all, Dave called me today. I wrote him some e-mail recently and like the sweet guy that he is he called me to talk very soon afterward. I miss having him around, but I know he's so much happier out in California so I'm glad for him.
So that was the first good thing today.
Secondly I talked to my mom and we had a nice talk. You know, the kind of mother-daughter talk you always hear about on TV or read about. Talking with my mom is half like talking to a friend and half like talking to a counselor of some sort. Today was more of a friendly kind of day, sharing and sympathizing.
Thirdly, I figured out some programming on ATEX today which will be helpful in smoothing out our overall procedures and I got VERY excited about that.
Lastly, I just came up from Happy Hour downstairs with the office crew and I had a really good time. For once I didn't feel lost and out of place. I still managed to embarrass myself because I was laughing too hard which generally causes me to snort. Loudly. But I felt comfortable, and that was just ... NICE.
Now I'm just waiting for the files to come down so I can process them and get the flock out of here. But all in all it's been a good day. I guess maybe I should sleep in more often ...
