I haven't written all weekend.

Somehow the prospect of sitting down at the computer was distasteful to me, and also I was just plain too busy.

We had friends over on Sunday. I did a whole LOT of laundry on Saturday. In fact I spent somewhere upwards of 6 hours doing laundry and I was not happy about this at all. My extreme frustration with our laundry facilities is mounting. The amount of change that needs to be pumped into the dryers in order for them to be fully dry, is completely ridiculous. It also means that I'm tied to home. I can't just throw the stuff in and leave it. Leave and you lose your spot. There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers in the basement to service 4 floors of apartments. It can be a zoo down there on Sunday afternoons. I hate doing laundry.

I talked a lot this weekend too. With friends about all sorts of things. Last night I had 2 very serious discussions and my head is still reeling from everything that was said. This is one of those profound late-night discussions in which the secrets of the world start to unfold and you share a couple of magically open hours with some really great people.

So I haven't internalized everything that was said and everything that I thought yet.

Some of it was about religion and tolerance. The hypocrisy of intolerance in a faith where the greatest prophet preached tolerance and acceptance and forgiveness. The terrible tragedy of how much can go wrong in a faith when power and greed and fear turn it into a dictatorship of rules instead of a celebration of acceptance and sharing and communion with the divine.

Some of it was about sex, and the expectations that surround it. The expectations that surround dating and love. The implications of intimacy and how the four of us each see it slightly differently.

Some of it was about lots of random stuff that got inserted into the conversation. All of it was about four people sharing thoughts and minds meeting other minds.

It was really really cool.
