I'm idly observing Sabs arguing on TooMush about all sorts of issues from what languages web sites should be offered in to tax packages and racism.

He gets heated up so easily, it's both endearing and something that I'm proud of. He's not afraid to say what he thinks and defend it, and he honestly enjoys discussing issues with others.

This is something I have trouble with. Like my father, I enjoy being right, way too much. I don't like being wrong. In discussions, I like to win. Sabs doesn't care who wins or loses, he just likes to talk. To discuss. To explore.

Sometimes I feel ashamed of the fact that I don't like to lose. That I can't just talk about something without feeling defensive of my views. I'd like to excise that feeling of being attacked, just be able to discuss without feeling vulnerable. It gets in the way of a true forum of discussion.

Do people really like to discuss, or do they just like to prove themselves right?
