Vacation.

I went on vacation on Thursday, and now I'm back at work after 5 days "off". The bad part is that I feel just as tired as usual because we drove all the way to Atlanta and back and I had a lot of trouble sleeping while we were there.

The next time I take vacation I'm just going to stay home and sleep all day. Or sew or a million other things, at home where I can REST.

It was however, nice to be in a different place, to see friends, to get steeped in sci-fi for a few days and be nutty and goofy and spend money on insanely good food.

Travelling with Sabs, I've found out now, is also a lot of fun. We didn't really do anything special, and he doesn't even like driving all that much, but it just felt right to be sitting there in the car with him and sing along to the CD's every now and then and not to have to worry about asking for a pit stop.

My father you see, was the pit-stop anti-christ, before every trip the sentence was "Go now, 'cause I'm not stopping once we get on the road" and if I did have to go, it was "Can you hold it for another hour?" I got a bladder of steel from car trips with my father. Until a year or so ago when I started drinking beer. *sigh*

Anyway, I'm actually very tired right now after getting up for one of my early days at work. I was met with a huge pile of e-mail, bills that need to be paid and the rent is due. Thankfully the apartment is fairly clean, because my "little sister" Winnie, arrives on Thursday for a 2 month stay and I need to get everything ready for her. I put her bed in the room which will be hers last weekend when it arrived with my friend Bonnie last week. Now we need to move the computer out of there for the time being, and I need to set up something for her to keep her clothes in until September when she goes back for her last year at Smith. Sabs and I are pondering a quick jaunt down to Ikea to pick another of the bureaus of which he already has 2, then we'd have more of the matching set.

OH, and on the 24th I was right about Sabs being very practical about my web-worries. He sat me down and pointed out good things about my site and said "Honey, it looks like YOU, warm and homey and stuff" and that made me smile so I'm just not going to worry about THAT anymore.

He's still not satisfied with his own little page, but I'm not going to worry about that either, 'cause he's just going to have to learn HTML himself if he wants to do something different:) Right now I just need a space where I can rave about him to all and sundry *grin*, yes, I am a VERY naughty girl.

Still have lots on my mind, thoughts are basically a whirlwind after this weekend. But those are things I'll be writing in my paper journal ... things to keep in the physical world, for later ...
