It's a beautiful day out.

But the day started badly, I was grouchy, didn't get enough sleep. I snapped at Sabs. It's never a good way to start the day.

Things have started to pick up a bit. As I walked across the traffic circle this morning, I noticed that the sprinklers were on to water the flower beds. A fine mist of water was springing up into the air on either side of the circle. The pigeons, eternal denizens of the traffic circle, were huddled up in small groups under the mist, feathers fluffed out to catch the water, sitting there like puffs of wool, blinking stolidly at passersby as they bathed. A few were only taking a drink, others were waddling about through the water and giving all appearances of thoroughly enjoying themselves.

They looked really funny, and it made me laugh to myself to see them so.

I'm actually doing something constructive today. I'm revamping some of the scripts I use at work, trying to make them work better. This is a very nit-picky task to have assigned myself, it'll probably drive me nuts by the end of the day.

However, the bi-weekly lunch meeting is about to start. Hopefully it'll be good food this time and I'll get a good lunch.

More later ....

1:29 PM

There's nothing like a useless meeting to make your day.

Somehow all that happens is that the same 3 people toss around a few ideas and the rest of us fall asleep.

Sure the humor can fly and it's nice to actually see everyone and sort of touch base, but it seems that these things always drag on, well past the point of all usefulness.

Does anyone else have to attend a useless meeting every week or so?
