May 15, 1997 It's getting hot out. My walk to the office this morning caused me to break into a sweat because of the closeness of the air. This the one great disadvantage to living in the VA-DC-MD area : it gets a lot hotter and muggier a lot sooner than it does further north. I had a lunch meeting today which threw me off schedule. For once they actually served nice food though. We usually get a desultory mix of sandwiches which never taste like the cold cuts that they are supposed to be. But today we had a make-your-own-fajita bar which was, fun and tasty too. I'm somewhat brain-dead just now having done a number of file-conversions which are the mainstay of my job. But I'm already thinking ahead to tomorrow when I will take the train up to Northampton and see a number of college friends and see my dear friend Shana graduate. Sabs will miss me all weekend, but he'll have company of his own staying for George Washington U.'s graduation ceremonies. Hopefully he won't be too silly and will remember to take care of himself while I'm gone. This also means that the site probably won't get updated over the next few days unless I browbeat Amanda into letting me on for a few minutes over the weekend. I expect I'll have a bunch of interesting observations to make over the weekend about who I'm seeing and all of the ceremony around graduation. Anyway, I'm not feeling particularly profound today, so go read something in the Memory Box if you feel the need for some deep thoughts and if you haven't read it all already. Ciao! |
